Suzanne and Brett were the "wild card" couple of the competition. Both of them had very little or no dance experience going into this competition. With their amazing choreographer, Vadim Asmolov, they proved to everyone that anyone can learn how to dance. They learned to dance the Tango in 1 week and put on a hot, amazing performance no one could forget. Suzanne and Brett work for the Eugene O'Neil Theater and had lots of support to cheer them on. They had so much fun that they both plan to continue daning at the Fred Astaire Studio in Mystic.

Hi my name is Angie Gugliuzza and I recently helped put together a very exciting fundraiser with Robyn Wolman, Connie Simos and Lori Woll called, "So You Think You Can Dance For a Cause". (Based on the popular TV Show). The fundraiser benefited a local non profit, needy charity called, "Strays Unlimited". Strays Unlimited rescues sick, blind, abuse and farrell cats and provides permenant care for them. They pay for all of their food and medical treatments yet giving them a stable, home-feeling environment so they may live a wonderful life that otherwise would have been cut short. Our event was quite a success being the first one we had done together. There were about 300 people that attending our event. We had very generous sponsors such as: The Shoreline Times, The New London Day, Mohegan Sun, Citadel Broadcasting,Mariani and Reck, Fred Astaire Dance Studio, Peoples Bank and Citizens Bank. All of our contestants, judges and choreographers all donated their time so generously to make the whole event possible. I have posted some pictures of the event and would like to thank everyone involved for making all of this possible. It just goes to prove that even as rough as it is out there today, there are still people willing to give of themselves dispite it all.
